a lover
a child
with kittens
with kindness
without a home
it may not be sexy
but its america

banned from the corner
coffeeshop
whos alley he sleeps in
banned for being 'scummy'
as opposed to all the
kids who pay
for their dreads
and rip their 501s
and shop
the thift stores
for the latest trend
in poverty
while they drive
their bmws
to get their cappucinos
with whipped cream
he may not be sexy
but he's american

and he held my pen
in his hand
sliding it
between his fingers
twirling it in awe
touching it to the
weekly
the ink, it flows
so smoothly, he said
it feels so good
in my hands
